The Minister of Industry, Héctor Gómez, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Natàlia Mas, visit the EBRO stand.

The brand, which will once again manufacture vehicles, will have its first prototype, a 100% electric pick-up, and the electric light off-road vehicle with which it participated as "car 0" in the Dakar Rally 2022, on display in Hall 8 of Fira de Barcelona.

The Automobile Barcelona show was officially inaugurated this Friday with the traditional visit of the authorities to the main event of the automotive sector in Spain. EBRO, which unveiled its plans to return to manufacturing vehicles - now exclusively electric - from 2024 in the Zona Franca of Barcelona, has focused the attention of the delegation, which was received by Pedro Calef, CEO of the company.
The Minister of Industry, Héctor Gómez, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Natàlia Mas, the Government Delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, and the President of Automobile Barcelona, Enrique Lacalle, were interested in the rebirth of the historic EBRO brand, which was founded in 1954 to produce agricultural and industrial vehicles, and which disappeared in 1987.

Re-founded as EBRO Automotive Corporation, it has shown its first prototype, a 100% electric pick-up that has captured the interest of the Minister of Industry, who did not hesitate to sit in the driver's seat. Not surprisingly, this vehicle - the first of its kind designed and produced in Europe - will go into series production in the last quarter of 2024 in the Zona Franca of Barcelona, which will contribute decisively to the start-up of the D-Hub factory.

After two days for the press and professionals, the doors of the Montjuïc exhibition center were opened to the public from Saturday 13 to 21 May. EBRO was keep on display at its stand located in Hall 8 the pickup prototype and the all-electric light off-road vehicle with which it participated as "car 0" in the Dakar Rally 2022.
